Prayers to Our Lady Health of the Sick:

Our Lady, Health of the Sick,
I look to you for the comfort of a mother's love,
I pray to you on behalf of those who are suffering
and for my own healing needs.

Mary,
your love strengthens me
and brings me peace.

Our Lady, Health of the Sick,
embrace all who are emotionally and physically ill
that they may return to good health
under your tender care.
And please intercede for my very special needs
(mention your needs here).

Mary,
your love strengthens me
and brings me peace.

A Prayer for the Sick and Afflicted
From the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio

Dearest Mary, Mother of Consolation, please join your prayers to my own. Look upon my difficulties with love and help me to understand and accept them.

Loving Mother, Health of the Sick, I grow so impatient. There are many days when I grow so weary of this affliction. Many are the times when, in my heart, I cry out to God and ask Him, Why me? What did I do to deserve this distress?

At times, Mary, the pain and hurt invade my very spirit, placing a veil between my God and myself. Please help me to overcome these days, Mary. In your gentle kindness, help me to see and feel the unending love of God, which I know is always there.

You accepted and lived the will of Our Father in your life. Help me to accept the Father’s will for me, for I know that in His will is love.

Dear Mother of Consolation, help me by your prayers to be freed from this affliction if it be God’s will. Above all else, teach me to accept my difficulty and to see in this a deepening union with your Son, through His cross, that blessed sign of His special love for me. Amen.

Peace be with you!

Saturday of Our Lady

OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION
FEAST DAY: JANUARY 21(in Rome)

Our Lady of Consolation-Carey, Ohio Photo: R.Massaro
Prayer to Our Lady of Consolation:

O Mary Immaculate, our Mother and Consolation, I take refuge in thy most loving heart with all the confidence of which I am capable; thou shalt be the dearest object of my love and veneration. To thee, who art the dispenser of the treasures of Heaven, I shall always have recourse in my sorrows to have peace, in my doubts to have light, in my dangers to be defended, in all my needs to obtain thy ssistance. Be therefore my refuge, my strength, my consolation, O Mary the Consoler! At the hour of my death, graciously receive the last sighs of my heart and obtain for me a place in thy heavenly home, where all hearts shall praise with one accord the adorable Heart of Jesus for ever more as well as thy most lovable heart, O Mary. Our tender Mother, Comforter of the afflicted, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Grant also peace and holiness to the Church, through Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Lord. Amen.

MOLOBEN TO OUR MOTHER
(BYZANTINE PRAYER)

O my ever-gracious Queen, my hope, O Mother of God, Comfort of the orphan, the harbor of the harborless, the joy of the suffering, the refuge of the despised, behold my trial, behold my tribulation, help me, as I am without shelter. Beholding my destitution, loosen my bonds, if Thou wilt, for I have no help but Thee, no other refuge, no kindly comfort, but Thee, O Mother of God, Thou wilt guard and protect me for all eternity.

Peace be with you!

Carey, Ohio
Side Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows

Prayer for a Happy Death

O Mary, my good Mother, after Jesus you are my hope and consolation. By your protection make me persevere in my firm determination to offend God no more and to prefer a thousand deaths to the deliberate commission of one mortal sin! Obtain for me the grace of final perseverance, and grant that I may remember to ask for it during the time of temptation at the hour of death. You are the refuge of sinners and our perennial help. Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for me.

O Mother of Jesus, I offer you the last day, last hour and last moment of my life, and everything that shall take place in me at that last moment--in honor of the last moment, hour and day of your life, and of all that occurred in you on that day. If it pleases you, unite me with all the holy and divine dispositions of your maternal heart and your pure soul. Grant that, by your merits and prayers, my last thoughts, words, acts and breaths may be consecrated to the honor of the last thoughts, words, acts and breaths both of your Son and of yourself. Grant that I may die loving him with his holy love; that I may be utterly consumed and sacrificed to his glory; that my life may end with a last act of most pure love of him.
Prayer of St. John Eudes

Peace be with you!
