Saturday of Our Lady

The Church never tires of singing with joy of the "Admirable Exchange"  through which God stooped down man so that man might become God. At the very heart of this mystery is Mary. In her, the Word found a home so that man might recover  the joy of a lost paradise.

When she became the mother of the Savior her mission was only beginning; for the work of salvation is an organic unity.  Her mission as Mother of the Church is to keep on giving humanity to Jesus for the many for the many brethren  of whom he was the first-born(Rom. 8,9). She is part of an unending cycle of birth, growth, formation of her children to the likeness of her Son. She has much to do, her maternal love is ever aglow.  She "cooperates with Him in the birth and development of the faithful."(Vat. C.II)  Thus the servant of the Lord serves the mystery of redemption through a virginity and motherhood that are ever fruitful.
